I am so thankful for the strength I have gained in the
short time that I have worked out at One 2 One. This weekend, I played in a basketball
tournament in Lindale, Texas, near Tyler, and I was running circles around my opponents
and my own team! In the first game I was 2 for 2 from the free throw line, and I didn't
feel tired after the game at all. In the second game, I drove to the basket on numerous
occasions, but my shot just would not go in. I kept shooting, but I tried to focus
strictly on defense in that game when I decided that my shot wouldn't fall. I kept running
and working hard. and irritating this cocky girl that had scored a lot in the quarter when
it was my turn to sit out. Every time their team went on offense. I had parents from teams
that had already faced that girl cheering for me. I didn't let her score once on me, and I
knocked her down a few times also! Then in the third game, I hit 2 three's from way beyond
the 3 point line, plus I had many more attempts driving the lane. In my fourth came, I
drove the entire time, taking 2 defenders to the goal, getting tackled, but there wasn't a
call. I was really proud of myself though, considering it took two of them to take me
down! Also, there is a rule in BCI basketball that states that if your team does not have
a full roster of 10, then the other team gets to shoot 2 free throws for each player short
of IO. Plus the coach from the other team gets to pick the players that he doesn't want
back out on the floor, and I was 1 of 2 that he didn't want to face for another quarter. I
didn't feel tired the whole tournament, but my teammates were all complaining of fatigue.
Thank you Joyce, for making me stronger, and making me do all those different exercises,
so when it comes to game time I get these results.
- Katie
