When
I first started working out at One 2 One Fitness, I
weighed 220 pounds and was wearing a size 18.
Day-to-day life stresses had really gotten to me. What made me realize that I had let
myself go was seeing myself in pictures from my summer vacation in Jamaica in June 1999.
In September 1999, 1 decided that I needed to make some definite changes in my life. I
changed jobs and started to motivate myself to begin to start working out again for the
umpteenth time. But this time was going to be different. After seeing the results of your
workouts on two of my friends, I decided that this was the way I wanted to lose my weight.
After initially consulting with Joyce, in which she gave me suggested foods to eat, I went
to the grocery store to begin my new way of eating. Cutting back or eliminating sugar( I
love candy & sweets) and fried foods was going to be my 1st step in weight loss. I
also had to increase my intake of fruits and veggies. My water intake was sufficient at
the time because I rarely drink sodas. If you notice, I didn't say anything about
following some "fad diet". I just modified my eating to achieve the weight loss
that I wanted. Along with food modification, I worked out with Joyce 4-5 times a week as
well as doing 30 minutes to I hour of cardio in addition to the cardio and weight lifting
done in the I hour workout sessions. The personal group training that One 2 One Fitness
offers allows you to not only be motivated by Joyce but as well by the other members of
the gym who also push you to meet your goals.
Well, I guess you're wondering what kind of progress I've
made thus far. As of June 8th, I
have lost 35 pounds, gone from a size 18 to a size 13/14 and have lost lots of inches off
of my back, hips, arms, and stomach. I
only have 15 more pounds to lose now to reach my goal of 50 pounds and I will continue to
follow my program to achieve this goal. The atmosphere at One 2 One Fitness is nothing but
positive energy. I would like to thank Joyce and the members of One 2 One for helping me
stay motivated by continually pushing me in the workouts or reprimanding me for falling
off the program. Working out at One 2 One has made a positive change in my life and one
that will continue to last a lifetime.
